Smoothies are a great way to add nutrient rich ingredients into your day's diet, and depending on which ingredients you choose, comes with many benefits. This smoothie is for liver health and cleansing with ingredients of beets, spinach, kale, berries, pineapple, apple, orange and water. This particular recipe has a large list of ingredients, but smoothies can be just as healthy and beneficial with far less.

If you are worried about sugar being a problem with smoothies - remember that when you are using whole foods that keep all the fiber, enzymes, vitamins and minerals in the mix, your body has to work to break down and metabolize the ingredients, which not only slows down the digestion process, but also the absorption of sugar. When sugar is absorbed slowly it can be be used as the fuel for beneficial processes, avoiding the damaging rapid spikes in blood sugar that come when sugar is ingested without complementary nutrients and fiber (it is actually important to eat whole foods for ALL the benefits of each part of the food).
